Latest Rivian software update includes ‘Kneel Mode’ for easier entry and exit by lowering EV’s height

Rivian has begun rolling out over-the-air software update 2022.39.03 to both its R1T pickup and R1S SUV. In addition to updates to its EV’s user interfaces and Gear Guard security system, Rivian has put a spotlight on its new “Kneel Mode,” which can lower the EV’s height down to about ten inches, making it easier for drivers and their passengers to get in and out of the vehicle. Sibros to provide OTA connected vehicle systems for the Lightyear One SEV

Connected vehicle system developer Sibros has added another EV OEM to its list of collaborators by sharing that it will provide Lightyear with its proprietary technology. As the automaker looks to bring its Lightyear One SEV to production in 2022, it will come equipped with over-the-air (OTA) software update capabilities and data management from Sibros.

Volta Trucks partners with Sibros to bring real-time OTA data to its Zero fleet

Volta Trucks and Sibros have partnered up to integrate the latter’s holistic data platform system for fleets into the upcoming 16-ton Volta Zero electric truck. GM confirms over-the-air update capability for Bolt EV as it recalls millions of cars over a software issue

Today GM reported that it would be initiating a recall of around four million cars due to a software defect in their airbag deployment system. Customers will have to bring their cars to their local GM dealers where they will update the software free of charge.

Coincidently, the announcement of the recall is arriving just days after Pam Fletcher, Chief Executive Engineer at General Motors, stated that over-the-air (OTA) programming would be coming to the Bolt EV when she was speaking at a conference earlier this week.
