First drive in the electric Jaguar E-Type from ECD Automotive Design: A welcomed upgrade

Just over a year after my last visit, I recently got the chance to visit my friends at ECD Automotive Design down in central Florida and take their latest EV conversion – the all-electric Jaguar E-Type for a spin. As always, there were tons of new and exciting happenings at ECD, as it continues to learn, grow, and delve further into electrification.

Electrogenic introduces ‘drop-in’ EV conversion kit to electrify classic 1960s Jaguar E-Type

EV conversion specialist Electrogenic has launched its latest classic car to be reborn as an all-electric model. Customers around the globe can now get a 1960s Type 1 to 3 Jaguar E-Type EV – in either a Roadster or Coupé design – or buy Electrogenic’s drop-in kit and have an authorized installer do the conversion for them.

Another Jaguar I-Pace battery caught on fire without any crash after simply sitting charging in a garage. This is the fourth known I-Pace battery fire that seemingly started on its own, which is starting to be significant considering the relatively small number of units on the roads.

Jaguar also uses LG battery cells like the Bolt EV and Kona EV, which were both recalled for battery fire risks. Is this another Bolt EV battery fire situation?

With the option to choose a Tesla motor and battery, these electric Jaguar E-Types are now available to order.
