Schneider hits 1 million emission-free miles using Freightliner eCascadia electric trucks

Freight logistics specialist Schneider is celebrating a huge milestone in the commercial EV space today, reporting its fleet of electric trucks from Daimler’s Freightliner brand has surpassed 1 million total miles driven – all without any carbon emissions. We love to see it.

Schneider opens own depot in SoCal capable of charging 32 Freightliner electric trucks at once

As freight logistics specialist Schneider National continues to electrify its fleet of regional and long-haul trucks, it decided to take charging into its own hands… at least in Southern California. The company just opened a new depot about half the size of a football field, capable of charging over 30 electric trucks simultaneously.

Daimler Trucks North America invited us out for a test drive of all of Daimler’s electric truck portfolio — the Freightliner eCascadia and eM2, the Jouley electric school bus, and a walk-in delivery van on the MT50e platform by Freightliner custom chassis.

Coming away from the experience, we’re more excited than ever about the electric future for these fleet offerings.

Daimler unveils electric eCascadia semi truck to compete with Tesla Semi, launches electric truck group

Daimler, one of the world’s largest truck maker, has been feeling the pressure from Tesla’s electric truck – going as far as saying that they have “passed them by” if the claims Tesla is making about its electric semi truck are true.

Now the German truck manufacturer is answering back with the launch of its own electric truck group along with the unveiling of two more electric trucks, including an electric version of their Cascadia to compete with Tesla Semi.
