GM executive vice president Mark Reuss was speaking at the LA Auto Show this week and he said that the company plans to unveil the production version of the Bolt at CES 2016 – almost a year to the day after unveiling the concept car at the 2015 Detroit Motor Show.
The all-electric Bolt is expected to go on sale for $37,500 before EV incentives and to achieve 200 miles on a single charge. GM aims at releasing the vehicle in late 2016.
GM and LG recently announced the expansion of their partnership in order to bring the vehicle to production.
CES 2016 will start on January 6 in Las Vegas.

I wonder if GM is the company that was looking to share Tesla’s superchargers. With >200 mile range, it would take forever to charge at normal public chargers. The biggest obstacle to widespread EV adoption is range anxiety. It’s great that GM will beat tesla to production in this price category, but without a way to quickly charge the car during long travels, dat range anxiety will still be there. Then again, I don’t see GM giving up market advantage and conceding to use Tesla’s proprietary superchargers.
also, Fred… you are working super hard man. posting articles in middle of night/ early morning!
Thanks. I write whenever I can and I love it.
As for Tesla potentially sharing the Superchargers, Musk said it was an European automaker, but not German. So probably Renault or Volvo.
