Watch a Rivian R1T pull a stuck Ford F-150 Raptor out of the snow [Video]

Who said electric vehicles can’t perform in the cold? A recent video shows a Rivian R1T successfully pulling a stuck Ford F-150 Raptor out of the snow.

The ultimate Adventure Vehicle?

Rivian’s R1T continues to prove itself to be the ultimate electric “Adventure Vehicle.” The EV maker claims its Adventure Vehicles are “designed and engineered to go where most vehicles can’t go” and, most importantly, sustainably.

The Rivian R1T can plow through 3+ feet of water and rock crawl a 100% grade with 14.9″ of ground clearance. That’s more than the Ford Bronco (13.1″), Jeep Wrangler (12.9″), and Land Rover Defender (11.5″).

It’s also as fast as a sports car, with a 0 to 60 mph in as little as 3 seconds (although it did lose in a race to Tesla’s Cybertruck).

Rivian’s electric truck even made history as the first EV to win the Rebelle Rally last year, the longest off-road rally in the US.

With the ability to tow up to 11,000 lbs, Rivian’s R1T tops not only most electric trucks but gas-powered too. That’s more than the 2024 Ford F-150 (up to 9,400 lbs) and Chevy Silverado 1500 (up to 9,500 lbs).

Rivian R1T frees Ford Raptor buried in the snow

Rivian’s electric truck impressed after it was spotted towing a semi truck that was stuck on the side of the road near its factory in Normal, Illinois, two years ago.

The Rivian R1T is flexing its muscles again after a new video surfaced showing the EV pickup pulling a stuck Ford F-150 Raptor out of the snow. The video, posted by Instagram user Navajomylo, shows the Raptor stuck deep in the snow after a brutal winter storm swept across the US and Canada.

The caption read, “— Easier than stealing candy from a kid!” You can see in the background police blocking off the road as the Rivian helps the Raptor get back on the road.

Rivian’s Quad-Motor AWD R1T packs a whopping 835 horsepower and 908 lb-ft of torque. In comparison, the 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor has 720 horsepower and 640 lb-ft of torque.

Despite Ford calling the new F-150 Raptor “the most powerful and capable high-performance off-road full-size truck,” Rivian’s R1T may prove otherwise. Then again, the R1T is slightly smaller than a typical full-size pickup.
