EV automaker XPeng Motors is set to hold its annual 1024 Tech Day in China next week and has begun teasing some exciting technology. In addition to a roadmap of its autonomous driving technology, XPeng is also teasing robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) as topics that will be showcased.

It’s been nearly a two-year journey since XPeng Motors originally announced its mid-sized luxury SUV, the G9 – a model born into expectations from its creators as a potential best seller in its respective segment. I recently found myself on a tour through Europe that included the Netherlands and thought, “The G9 recently arrived here, why not ask XPeng for a loaner to tour the countryside in?” Luckily XPeng obliged, and I got a the full helping on the G9 I so desired. I was not disappointed.

Ahead of its expected launch in Q4 of this year, XPeng Motors has shared three new images of its X9 MPV donning some geometric camouflage. It may not be the sleekest-looking EV to come out of XPeng’s development labs, but multipurpose EVs like this are becoming widely popular in China.

Despite recent financial ups and downs correlating with company news, XPeng Motors is looking to expand its global footprint of available EVs. According to words from the Chinese automaker’s president earlier today, XPeng will be beginning sales in three new markets around Europe, beginning next year.
