VW is teasing a new electric plug-in SUV concept to be unveiled next week [Gallery]

Vokswagen sent out a press release this morning with new images to tease an upcoming electric plug-in hybrid SUV concept to be unveiled at the Beijing Auto show next week.

The company describes the concept as a “premium SUV’ and it will release the concept under its VW brand – even though Volkswagen as another premium electric SUV, although all-electric, coming out under its luxury brand: Audi.

Jaguar is reportedly planning to launch a 300-mile all-electric SUV in 2017

Jaguar F-PaceA new report from Autocar states that sources confirmed Jaguar is planning to launch its first electric vehicle in 2017 and it should be a SUV with “around 300 miles of range”. The concept is expected to debut at the “Mondiale de l’Automobile” in Paris, which will start on October 1st, 2016.

Why is Tesla hiding the front-end of the Model X?

Model X design studioLast week Tesla opened the online design studio of its upcoming all-electric SUV, the Model X, to a select few reservation holders. Bringing online the design studio gave us a chance to see the final design of the Mode X, especially a great look at the interior, but Tesla didn’t include a 360 degree view of the vehicle and the company is intentionally not showing the front-end (see picture above).

We have seen so many spy-shots of Model X prototypes in the past few months that there’s little left to the imagination at this point, but Tesla might still have a few surprises for us…
