DeLorean Motor Company, the short-lived 1980s automaker behind the DMC DeLorean sports car turned pop culture staple thanks to the Back to the Future franchise, is returning with an EV model. The DeLorean EV concept has just recently been teased, but its official reveal has now been moved up three days alongside an enticing teaser image.

Hyundai modernizes its retro heritage with PONY EV concept

Hyundai has revealed its Heritage Series PONY concept, an electrified modern-day upgrade to South Korea’s first mass-produced vehicle. The Heritage Series PONY EV exists as part of the “Reflections in Motion” exhibition at Hyundai Motorstudio in Busan. While it is only a concept, the Heritage Series PONY pays homage to its automaker’s history, while offering people a glimpse into technologies of the future.

VW releases a teaser picture for its electric vehicle concept to debut at CES

VW CES conceptVolkswagen’s Chairman of Passenger Cars Dr. Herbert Diess is scheduled to give a talk and unveil a new electric vehicle concept at the upcoming CES 2016. The company released a teaser picture (see above) for the concept and rumor has it, it could be a new electric version of VW’s flagship Type 2 minibus.

Toroidion2Why another electric supercar you ask? You’d think that after Tesla, Rimac, Renovo and the myriad of other companies making high-end electric vehicles, it would reach a point where there’s just too many? The fact of the matter is that the number of electric supercars is still dwarfed by the number of gas-powered supercars.

We are all cheering for more affordable EVs, but until I see more supercars powered by batteries than gasoline, I will not be tired of seeing new super-EVs coming out and this 1 MW concept from Toroidion is “super” alright…
