Harley-Davidson’s LiveWire electric motorcycle has been available for pre-order in the US since January. But now the American-made electric motorcycle is available to our neighbors in the North and across the pond.
Harley-Davidson has indicated while pre-orders are now open in Europe, there will be a limited supply of LiveWire electric motorcycles available on the continent.
LiveWire deliveries in Europe are expected to begin this fall, which will also align with deliveries in the US.
The price of the LiveWire in the UK has been set at £28,995 (or about US $37,800). That’s a substantial increase over the US price of $29,799.
The Canadian price has been set at CAD $37,250 according to CanadaMotoGuide, which is actually slightly lower than the US price, converting to approximately US $27,800.
To place a pre-order, riders will need to visit the closest Harley-Davidson dealership that is equipped to sell the electric motorcycle. Then they can place a deposit in person.
Harley-Davidson dealers that expect to offer the LiveWire are being required to install Level 3 DC fast chargers that are compatible with the bike.
The LiveWire is Harley-Davidson’s first electric motorcycle, though the company has more electric models in the works. The LiveWire is rated for a maximum city range of 140 mi (225 km) and a top speed of approximately 110 mph (177 km/h).
The LiveWire is being positioned as a premium electric motorcycle, and thus it doesn’t compete directly with more affordable models such as the recently unveiled $12,998 Lightning Strike. Instead, it is intended to be Harley-Davidson’s flagship electric motorcycle. While it likely prices out much of the market, the company hopes that it will serve as a halo product and draw in customers towards Harley-Davidson’s upcoming lighter and more affordable electric two-wheelers.
