The numbers are in and Tesla Model 3 is invading Europe

The numbers are starting to come in for vehicle sales in European markets and the Tesla Model 3 is shining and becoming the top-selling electric vehicle in several markets.

Earlier today, we reported on Tesla delivering over 5,000 Model 3 vehicles in Norway.

A few other markets are starting to release their registration numbers and it looks like Model 3 is doing well despite difficult logistical issues with early deliveries and higher volumes than Tesla’s European team has ever handled.

In the Netherlands, Model 3 was the most registered car last month and with just a few weeks of deliveries in the quarter, it became the fifth most sold vehicle in the country.

Model 3 also did well in the relatively small Austrian market with a record 752 deliveries in March, according to registration data.

In Sweden, where Tesla has had issues ramping up deliveries, Model 3 is helping the company expand in a big way with just over 1,000 Model 3 vehicles delivered in March.

All those deliveries are still just representing about half of the 15,000 Model 3 orders that Tesla received in Europe for the first two versions of the vehicle that they put up for sale in the market.

We will update you with more registration data from other European markets as they come in – leading to Tesla’s own numbers.

CEO Elon Musk said that the launch in Europe, along with China, came with the “most insane logistics challenge” he has ever seen:

Nonetheless, he hints that they might have overcome the challenge since he says that the teams have done “amazing work.”

The launch of the Model 3 in China and Europe is expected to represent the bulk of Tesla’s deliveries in Q1, but the company also shifted its focus to the US during the last few weeks in order to reduce the number of vehicles in transit.

Tesla is expected to release its Q1 delivery and production numbers within the next two days.
