Tesla unveiled ‘one more thing’ last night and everyone missed it – rumored to be pickup

Electrek’s Jamie Dow just eloquently laid down the argument that it’s OK that nothing was surprising about Tesla’s Model Y unveiling last night even though people were expecting a ‘one more thing’.

But Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that “there was something, but no one caught it” — it’s rumored to be the electric Tesla Pickup.

As Jamie explained, it actually makes sense that Tesla focused on what led to Model Y at the event last night instead of hyping another product.

Yet, it sounds like there was actually something, but it looks like we all missed it.

Musk tweeted in response to someone highlighting the fact that there wasn’t a “one more thing”:

The CEO didn’t elaborate on what was missed. What could it be?

Electrek’s Take

After the presentation ended, the lights went out for a second and the rumor is that Tesla flashed an image of the electric pickup on the main screen, but it’s unclear if anyone has actually seen it and it looks like no one took a picture.

After the presentation, I quickly got into the press room to start putting an article together about the Model Y specs and design.

I didn’t see anything, but when I came out, a lot of people in attendance came up to me to tell me the story.

That said, I asked them all if they actually saw it and they all said that they just heard it from someone else.

So it could just be a wild rumor that spread through the event or it could actually be true, but only a handful of people saw it and no one got a picture.

Either way, Elon confirmed that there was something more, but if we all missed it, what’s the point?

Come on Tesla! Give us one more shot please!
