Looking for an electric bike or scooter? Here’s your Black Friday deals preview

Electric bicycles are getting dangerously close to becoming mainstream. Commuters are using them all over Europe and Asia, and now they’re popping up increasingly often in cities around the US.

Prices are all over the map, from sub-$500 electric bicycles and scooters to $10,000 fancy pants e-bikes. With Black Friday and Cyber Monday coming up soon, here’s a preview of some of the best deals we’re going to see on personal electric vehicles.

If you just missed the Chinese Singles Day shopping holiday with some of the best deals we’ve seen all year, then don’t worry. There are already a number of companies that have announced Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals on electric bicycles. This could be a great chance to grab an e-bike for a significant discount.

Jetson’s Black Friday electric bicycle deals

Jetson is a personal electric vehicle company that focuses on affordable models. We recently reviewed their $399 Jetson Bolt mini electric bike, and found it to be a great little commuter for someone who wants a super simple setup. The Bolt is already on sale at $399, but between 11/25-11/29, you can grab it for just $319.

If you’re looking for a more substantial e-bike, the Jetson Metro might be more your style. It’s priced at $799, but will be on sale for $639.

Jetson also has this hilariously fun little hoverboard go-kart contraption called the Galaxy Hoverboard and JetKart Combo. I actually have one and have been playing around with it while I prepare a review. I can attest – this thing is a hoot. It uses their hoverboard which is already a well-built machine. But then it straps on a minimalist go-kart body and hand controls that turns the hoverboard into a seated racer. It’s currently $249 but will be on sale for $199.

I’m now noticing that most of the marketing shots are of kids and teens riding the JetKart. However, I am for all legal intents and purposes an “adult”, and somehow this thing still makes me giggle. And the legs are adjustable, so you can set it up for both you and your kids.

They also have another version that is purpose built – meaning it’s not a go-kart attachment for a hoverboard. Instead, it’s an all-in-one unit called the JetKart Phantom. It’s visually similar, but has some added bells and whistles like the rear lights that work as turn signals.

The JetKart Phantom is normally priced at a reasonable $299, but will be on sale for just $199.

GoTrax GXL electric scooter

GoTrax is another popular manufacturer of personal electric vehicles such as scooters and hoverboards. The GoTrax GXL electric scooter has been one of the most popular electric scooters of the season. Mine just arrived yesterday actually and I’m already enjoying it. It’s too soon for me to give a full review, but that will be coming shortly. From the amount I’ve ridden it though, I can say that this electric scooter is definitely a great bang-for-your-buck opportunity.

GoTrax jumped the gun and has already started running their Black Friday deal, discounting their $499 electric scooter down to just $399. However, we talked to GoTrax to see about hooking our readers up with an even better deal. So visit their website and enter the code ElectrekFans5 to get 5% off any product, including their famous GXL electric scooter.

GenZe electric bicycle deal

GenZe is a manufacturer of electric bicycles and electric scooters (the moped kind, not the kickscooter kind). In fact, I recently reviewed the GenZe 2.0 electric scooter, which I think is a game changing electric vehicle.

But while I’d love to see a crazy deal on the electric scooter, it’s GenZe’s impressive electric bicycle that is going on super-sale starting on Monday, 11/19. In fact, this sale isn’t even announced yet, but GenZe gave us permission to exclusively break the news here.

GenZe is offering up “nearly new” 100-series e-bikes for over 50% off their MSRP, plus free shipping. They retail for $1,599, but can be yours for just $749.

The GenZe 100-series e-bikes are 250W throttle e-bikes with 36V and 300 Wh batteries. They include 5 levels of pedal assist, but are considered Class II e-bikes due to the throttle that can power the e-bike up to 20 mph without any pedal effort.

These bikes are “nearly new” in that they were either used as floor models, for test rides, or other similar low use applications, and many have either no or very few miles on them. Each has been entirely refurbished and will be listed on GenZe’s website starting on Monday 11/19 with its exact details (age, miles, cosmetic imperfections, etc).

Swagtron electric bicycles and scooters

Swagtron makes some great recreational electric vehicles, of which I have thoroughly tested and reviewed a few. I’m currently testing out their Swagger 5, which is a great electric scooter! I’ll have a review coming up on shortly on it.

Some of their most popular personal electric vehicles are already on sale at Black Friday prices.  Their $530 EB-1 electric bike is on sale for $449 on Amazon or $479 on their website. The well known $550 EB-5 folding electric bike (my personal favorite) is on sale for $489 on Amazon or $499 on their website. And the $410 Swagger 5 electric scooter is on sale on Amazon for $359 or the same price on their website with the code pro_save_40.

I’ve described these bikes in the past as some seriously good e-bikes for the price. They don’t compare to a $4,000 e-bike, but the value/$ is off the charts.

Rad Power electric bicycles

Rad Power is not a budget e-bike company like the ones listed above, but they still have some great e-bikes for affordable prices.

The company is one of many in the US that developed their bikes locally but produce them in a Chinese factory. Thus, they were hit with the recent 25% import tariffs by the Trump Administration.

That caused the company to increase prices on their entire line of electric bicycles. With their upcoming Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales, the prices are largely a return to their pre-tariff prices. But considering that the tariffs caused a new normal of higher prices, this is still a discount, in an unfortunate way.

Their five different e-bikes are all priced between $1,699-$1,799. On Black Friday and Cyber Monday though, prices will drop between $300-$400 on each model.

Evelo electric bicycle 20% deals

Evelo is another electric bicycle retailer that has already announced their Black Friday sale.

Evelo will be offering up to 20% off of their electric bicycle models, for a maximum savings of up to $700. The sale will start at 12 PM ET, 9AM PT.

However, there’s a catch. Every 3 hours, the discount will drop by 5 percentage points. So if you want the full discount, you need to be sure to act quickly as soon as the deal starts.

Evelo has a number of different models of electric bikes, from street bikes to fat-tire bikes to folding bikes. Most of their bikes’ prices fall into the $2k range.

Fluidfreeride offering a (nearly) free scooter deal

Fluidfreeride, based in Miami, stocks a number of different electric scooter models. They’ve got everything from small, light and inexpensive electric scooters to some pretty impressive monsters.

My favorite is probably their WideWheel electric scooter, which has these big honkin’ wheels and dual suspension. This is the scooter that we rode at Interbike, and that a certain member of our team sent sliding along with himself across the smooth expo floor when the power got away from him. With the option for one or two 500W in-wheel motors, this scooter is a really fun beast. Based on personal experience, I recommend using it outside instead of on polished concrete floors.

This Black Friday through Cyber Monday, Fluid Free Rides is offering a deal where anyone who orders one of those WideWheel scooters will get a Mosquito Light electric scooter for just $79. The Mosquito Light normally costs $479, so that’s a pretty good deal if you want to turn that second scooter into one heck of a holiday gift. But remember that the deal is only good through November 26th.

More Black Friday deals to come

There are still many companies who haven’t announced their Black Friday and Cyber Monday electric bicycle deals yet. So if you didn’t see the bike you’re looking for on the list, don’t fret!

We’ll keep updating, and we’ll be back on Black Friday for a complete and constantly updated list of the best deals on personal electric vehicles. And if you know of any deals, share them with us in the comments below, or send me a hot tip! (my email is listed in my bio below).
