Tesla will launch time capsules into deep space as part of ‘secret’ referral program prize

Tesla has added a new ‘secret level’ to its customer referral program to “launch a time capsule into space” for a select few owners who achieve a high number of referrals.

The move follows a new round of the referral program launched earlier this month that included a new first referral prize:

“Launch Your Photo into Deep Space Orbit We’ll laser-etch any image onto glass and send it into deep space orbit for millions of years. Refer more friends while you wait for an alien race to discover your payload.”

Now Tesla is keeping the space theme with a new “secret level” prize for the program.

Erik of Tesla Inventory became one of the first owners to unlock the fifth “secret” level.

Tesla describes the prize:

“You’ve unlocked the fifth secret level. Refer 5 more friends to launch a personal time capsule into deep space orbit for millions of years. Unlock new levels while you wait for an alien race to discover your payload.”

It appears to be the latest collaboration between Tesla and SpaceX, which has become somewhat common when it comes to the referral program.

Here are the last 4 “secret levels”:

  • Discount on the next generation Roadster
  • Drive an Electric Boring Machine
  • Watch a SpaceX Rocket Launch
  • Race the Tesla Semi

As far as we know, Tesla has yet to deliver on any of those “secret levels”, which have been available since last year.

With the most recent changes to the program, Tesla significantly reduced the value of using a referral code for new buyers from unlimited free Supercharging access to just $100 of Supercharging credit.

But the automaker also added all Model 3 vehicles to the referral program instead of just the Model S, Model X, and Model 3 Performance.

If you’re looking for a Tesla referral code, you can use our code.√ You will get $100 Supercharging credit with the purchase of a new Model S, Model X or Model 3 until December 10.
