All-electric Hummer unveiled by Kreisel and Arnold Schwarzenegger

Kreisel Electric, a small Austria-based startup known for their impressive electric vehicle conversions, inaugurated their new research and development center this week and with it, they unveiled a new all-electric Hummer prototype.

Who best than Arnold Schwarzenegger to unveil the vehicle.

The movie star and former Governor of California was an owner and a fan of the gas-guzzling Hummer before becoming an environmentalist.

Earlier this year, Kreisel built a custom all-electric Mercedes G-Class for Schwarzenegger and he was present again yesterday at the inauguration of Kreisel’s new research and development to unveil the electric Hummer.

“Kreisel Electric electrified my Gclass last winterAnd now a Hummer. If Kreisel keeps it up at this pace, I will soon be able to fly here from LA in an electric airplane,” said Arnold Schwarzenegger

Here are a few pictures from the event:

Kreisel’s main business is to develop battery packs for electric vehicles and to showcase their tech, they made impressive EV conversions like a VW e-Golf with a 55 kWh battery pack and s $1 million classic Porsche 910.

Now they describe their latest project:

Kreisel Electric developed an off-road prototype on the basis of the H1 model in just two months’ time. It is equipped with high-performance batteries from Kreisel Electric featuring a 100 kWh capacity and two electric motors on the front and back axles, with a system output of 360 kW (490 PS). The vehicle can reach speeds of up to 120 km/h and has a range of about 300 kilometers and a total weight of 3,300 kg.

While the Hummer grabbed the attention, Kreisel’s event was to inaugurate its new 7,000 m2 (75,000 sq-ft) space in Rainbach.

The company says that they will use the space for “a prototype workshop and a completely automated manufacturing line for Kreisel Electric battery storage devices for use in the small-batch production of passenger vehicles, utility vehicles, buses, boats and airplanes, as well as in storage solutions.”
