Tesla’s forged aluminum Arachnid wheels are finally coming

Tesla first announced the new Arachnid wheels as a prize through its referral program for owners last year. Some winners are finally starting to get their wheels, which are supposed to increase performance.

The 21″ custom Arachnid wheels are offered in black, silver or grey, and they come with summer performance tires and installation when winning them through the referral program.

They are made of forged aluminum and lower the total weight. The front wheels are 51.8 lbs, while the rear wheels are 53.9 lbs.

While it was a prize for the last two rounds of the program in 2016 and owners were told that they were coming in January 2017, we still haven’t seen the wheels aside on a review Model S P100D that Motor Trend used for some tests last month.

Now DragTimes received their set this week and already installed them on their Model S P100D:

We are likely to see more performance tests with the new wheels coming soon and hopefully, they start making their way to more referral winners soon.

We are waiting for our own set which we are giving away randomly to one of the 20 people who use our referral code for $1,000 off of a new Model S or X during Tesla’s annual referral program. We already reached our limit of 8 referrals until March 15, but it will open up again after that and people can use the code.
