Faraday Future steps up its teaser game with interactive unveiling for its electric car

Faraday Future can’t stop and apparently won’t stop teasing the unveiling its upcoming electric car. After releasing 3 teaser images over the last week, the company today launched a new version of its website with an interactive rendering of its electric car being gradually unveiled.

You see particles forming a shape around FF’s vehicle platform. Richard Otto, a FF spokesperson, wrote in an email to Electrek that the rendering, which site visitors can interact with, will gradually unveil the vehicle over the next 21 days:

“The particle image located under the countdown clock is a silhouette of our production vehicle. The image will build with more particles each day until our vehicle’s final form is revealed on Jan. 3.”

He added that the “particle imagery” of the new website represents what the vehicle sees through its LiDAR system for autonomous driving:

“The design of the site revolves around our particle imagery. These images are a digital representation of how our vehicles see the world through Lidar, scanning and mapping the physical world around them to create sophisticated digital 3D imagery. “

The vehicle platform around which the particles are forming is more visible since it was already unveiled at CES 2016, but now the actual first production-intent vehicle to use the platform, which is the one the particles are forming, will be unveiled next month at CES 2017.

Here’s Faraday Future’s modular electric vehicle platform, called VPA:

As for the vehicle itself, the particles are not showing much more than we already have seen through the prototypes and teasers released so far.

The automaker is also supposed to release a video soon showcasing the performance of its car against a Ferrari 488 GTB, a Bentley Bentayga, and a Model X P100D, which should give you an idea of the segment FF plans to compete in.

Here’s a preview they released:

We will let you know when they release the full drag races.

FF plans to unveil the vehicle on Jan. 3 at 6 p.m. There will be a webcast on its website, but we will be live in Las Vegas to give you some behind the scene. Follow us on Twitter to keep up: Electrek Fred
