Tesla is increasing its 24/7 roadside assistance coverage from 50 to 500 miles for warranty tows

Tesla announced today that it is increasing its 24/7 roadside assistance and towing coverage from 50 to 500 miles of the nearest service center for issues covered by the warranty. Coincidently, the automaker announces the news while it is battling GM over direct sales law and the latter criticized Tesla for making customers travel long distances to get their car serviced, though to be fair, it is largely because of said direct sales law, which GM is advocating for.

Tesla owners will now be able to contact the company’s in-house support team, which is based in Fremont, CA for the North American market, and have their car picked up in case of emergency up to 500 miles from the nearest service center.

Of course, before towing the vehicles, Tesla will quickly assess the situation and assist troubleshooting issues.

If there’s absolutely a need for towing, the automaker will use its Tesla-trained network of tow providers across North America, which is especially important considering what can happen if someone improperly tries to tow a Model S:

Tesla updated its ‘Technical Support & Roadside Assistance‘ page with all the new information.

Pity that ‘Technical Support & Roadside Assistance‘ page does not exist on European Tesla web 🙁
Just like Tesla does not have eshop in Erope and many other stuff.
