Los Angeles kicked off the National Drive Electric Week with a big surprise for everyone: a Chevy Bolt prototype and a Nissan LEAF 2016 in display. Green Car Reports managed to get a few pictures of the event.
The Bolt is set to be GM’s entry in the much anticipate segment of 200+ miles range electric vehicles starting at $35,000, which is expected to come alive in 2017-2018 with a new LEAF, Tesla’s Model 3 and GM’s Bolt.
When the Bolt was first announced, media labelled it as a “Tesla killer”, especially threatening the Model 3, Tesla’s intended entry the segment. But now that we see the Bolt and the LEAF together, it becomes clear that the two cars will compete more with each other than anything else, considering the Model 3 is expected to be a mid-luxury vehicle.
