Stunning new 4k drone footage of the Tesla Gigafactory – March 2016 [Video]

Yesterday we shared a few pictures of the Gigafactory taken last weekend by Above Reno, but today we have the full 4k video of the company’s recent flight above Tesla’s battery factory located near Reno, Nevada. You can watch the video below:

The video shows little progress on the exterior of the building itself, at least since the aerial pictures we published last month, but Tesla seems to have been working on the area around the plant and obviously, much of the work is done inside as Tesla prepares the factory for the start of battery cell manufacturing later this year.

A recent leak gave us our first look at the Powerwall/Powerpack assembly line.

The factory is still under construction and currently only the first phase is up with an 800,000-square-foot footprint and 1.9 million square feet of space. Once completed, the Gigafactory is expected to have a total operational space of about 13 million square feet.
