Tesla Motors operates two kinds of charging networks: the Superchargers, a network of DC fast charging stations for long distance driving, and the Destination Charging network; level 2 chargers installed at restaurants and hotels to charge once you arrived at your destination.
While the Superchargers have been available in all markets Tesla operates in, Destination charging has only been available in North America and Asia. Today Tesla announced via Twitter that the program will come to Europe “soon”.
Destination Charging locations use the Tesla Wall Connector, a $750 home charging station, which, when paired with a Model S equipped with dual chargers, can charge the car at a rate of 58 miles of range per hour.

The company recently partnered with Airbnb to offer Destination Charging at Airbnb hosts’ homes, which should accelerate the growth of the program.
Tesla offers the first 2 chargers for free as long as they are installed in a “visible or convenient location”. If you own or know of a business which could use Tesla’s charging stations, here’s the form to fill in order to apply.
